The output of the command should be the return value of "do shell
script".  So if you do

set myOutput to (do shell script "curl -v ...")

the output of curl -v will come back to you.   There's currently no
way that I know of in AppleScript to launch a coroutine, which would
let you get the output of the command in real time line by line.  I
would think you could do it with named pipes and AS file I/O, but as I
recall that doesn't work for some reason.
