That solution will only provide happiness under certain conditions. I think I can illustrate with:

set r1 to {Matthew:"Matthew", Mark:"Mark"}
set r2 to run script "{Luke:\"Luke\", John:\"John\"}"
{r1, r2}
--> {{Matthew:"Matthew", Mark:"Mark"}, {luke:"Luke", john:"John"}}

Seems that if a key is not in ([a-z][a-z_]+) it is altered (same restrictions handler names).
