Looks like as if, on Ed's machine, telling the Finder to
activate were equivalent to click on the Finder's icon in the
Dock. Some kind of third party Finder enhancer utility, perhaps?
Whoops, my bad, I was working on a script that checking a network
folder every 20 seconds and opening a local folder whenever it
found something. When I would close the window and run the script,
the window would reopen. (Boy, is that embarrassing!)
So kai's script performs as expected. : }
