So the burning questions are: How much it will cost and will it be
tied to Cingular (as shown) which is not available in Eastern Canada.

No, those questions were extinguished much earlier today. :)  The
phone is $500 for the 4GB model and $600 for the 8GB model, and
Cingular has exclusive distribution through 2009, at least in the US.
No idea about availability elsewhere.
