Re: Applescript apps and Parental Control

More playing around ...

There are two ways to modify a non-admin users Parental Cotrols or Restrictions, specifically the Finder & System Configuration:
1. While logged-in as "nonadminuser", open the Accounts Pref Pane, (have an admin user) supply an admin username and password, then proceed ...
2. Log-in as an admin user, open the Accounts Pref Pane, select the user "nonadminuser", supply the admin username and password (again), then proceed ...

But they are NOT equivalent. I tried many times to remove all application use restrictions from my "Dummy" user using method 1. It does not work! Tried method 2. Success!

And, yes, there does seem to be a restriction on any AppleScripted (Smile or Script Editor) applications. Until I enabled all applications with no restrictions, I could not get any such application to work in my "Dummy" user.

Which prompts the following question:
If you have written an AppleScripted application which you intend to be used by any user, admin or otherwise, what do you have to explain to a non-admin user about your product?

I simply have no idea what the answer is. It ought to be "Nothing".
