My personal view, based on 14 years' experience with AppleScript, is that
all elements and properties of an object should appear in one object
definition in the terminology dictionary. Although there are many examples
of either approach, including examples from Apple, I find that users are
less confused when everything relating to, say, the application object or
the document object is located in a single application or document section
of the dictionary. To the extent there is a current "official" view on this
subject, I believe it is the same.

You can see an example of how I do this by downloading PreFab UI Actions,
installing its included UI Actions scripting addition by running UI Actions
Setup once, then examining the UIActionsSuite.sdef file in the scripting
addition (Command click and open the package contents, then look in the
Resources folder). You will see that the Standard Suite application class is
commented out, and its terms are merged into the UI Actions Suite
application class.

The UI Actions sdef file also includes examples of other techniques,
including placing html comments and examples in your dictionary.
