AppleScript Studio is installed by the Mac OS X Developer Tools CD. The
Developer Tools are matched with the version of Mac OS X you have and
are usually distributed with it one way or another. It's not part of
the standard install of Mac OS X. I have seen its installer installed
in /Applications/Installers/Xcode Tools, but not always. If you can't
find an installer or a Developer Tools disc, you can download an image
of the Developer Tools disc from Apple. You need to be an ADC member to
do this, but there is an "Online" level of membership that is free.
(Beware that email will probably split those URLs.)
If you don't already know AppleScript, you should start with that.
There are several good books on the subject and Amazon is a good
resource for figuring out which one meets your needs. For a free
starter, download AppleScript for Absolute Starters from:
Been using a mac since the year dot but mainly for print design and
more recently web dev. work, Sometime ago I saw a demo of apple studio
and was impressed, thought it would be a good way of developing image
handling apps and automating some of the tasks we have here, so I am
really looking for a way to get going, I read on the apple web site
its apple studio is free but I can see no way of getting hold of it.
Also can anyone advise on any good starter tutorials.
Any help to get going would be greatfully received
Thanks
Gary
