Of course, I can use a backup, but that is not what I want.

I'm not sure if you can repair your original MainMenu.nib. If you have the Build set to Development, you will have a copy of all the resources in the project's Build folder. Ctrl-click on the build icon and choose Show Package Contents. Copies of all your files are in the Resources folder.
