I runned the four files on an Intel iMac. The two types of script
files and the application file took approximately 25 seconds to run
- the fourth file, the 'bundled application file', took
approximately 1 second to run.
I found that, on my machine, it takes in the neighborhood of 20
seconds regardless of how it is saved, and for that matter whether it
is saved or not.
Taking it outside of the tell application block speeds it up to
almost instantaneously. And it seems not to matter what application
is used in the block.
So the questions remain:
1. Why does it happen only on an Intel machine?
2. Why does it happen on only some computers, but not others?
