Well, I don't know anyone who's AppleScripted themselves to a fortune either, but I've make a reasonable living from it for the last five or so years and I know a handful of other people in a similar situation, some of them regulars on this list (Hi Simon!). 

I know of three. We have two full time AppleScripters here. There used to be three but one escaped (hi, Rob!).

We're actually looking for someone to replace the escapee. If you're interested drop me an email off list.

The Mac Developers here are well thought of, well funded and (reasonably) well paid.
