that didn't work, there is no difference if I try to open the
filemaker db with filemaker or the finder.

end tell
tell application "Filemaker Pro"
open file "XXX"
--Call "modified"
--Forces handler to wait for the database to complete script
tell document "xxx" to modified
end tell
