Finding iCal Repeating Events

I imagine that this is a frequent topic here but some searches of the
archive have proved fruitless so I'm afraid that I am going to have to ask
if anyone has written some code to retrieve repeating events between two
dates. From my AppleScript tinkering I know that only the first occurrence
of a repeating event will be stored as an actual event (in 10.4.9 anyway) so
the key is to process the repeating text to calculate how many times the
event occurs between the specified dates but if anyone has already done this
then it would save me loads of coding and head scratching.

I believe that Chris Garaffa
(http://lists.apple.com/archives/applescript-users/2003/Nov/msg00730.html)
had a script to do this but it is not available at the link he posted.

Thanks.
