Re: Apple User Groups and Apple Stores (Thread busted)

I, too , am puzzled by Joe Ferguson's recent post.
Indeed, we have had internal difficulty with our recent election* but that has nothing to do with my curiosity about ARS and Apple MUG relations.
To be sure, concern about our taping or photographing in the store prompted my posting an inquiry on this list. Am curious as to how other groups fare.
We have had royal treatment from our ARS other than the concern about butting in on employee/customer potential sales discussions. And I understånd (though not directly involved) that last year's board (of which Joe Ferguson was a prominent officer) was alerted and maybe chastised that our club display, of sign in table , literature and display of raffle prizes, was not sufficiently attractive or neat .
So, the display has been neatened up,we use a table provided by the store ( no longer use a table which an officer had purchased on her own but displeased store employee) and we alert our members to mind their P's and Q's when in the store.
And , after using ARS extension cords and tripod for the Video camera I use to film our meetings, I now bring my own so as not to bother or be dependent on ARS.
Otherwise, wonderful experience with help from ARS employees.

*Will not burden you with details of the election turmoil which Joe Ferguson described as I do not think any of that discussion belongs on this list . (As you can see, emotions run high in some of our members :).)

*Suffice to say that questions about the election stem from the manner in which candidate statements were made (or not permitted) and how the vote was conducted/ballots managed. The election was held at the end of our meeting, with the clock ticking in terms of us ending (ARS has set a time limit on our meetings ). We were out of time and under pressure, the election was not conducted as it should have been. and , I am sure, would have been if election officials had allowed more time for it.
A number of members have, thus, called for a re taking of vote on the contested office.
