Apple Store Open House in London on Friday + Our Local Store

Since Apple Store folks read this list, I will add that it sure would be lovely if our Store Manager in Legacy Village, Lyndhurst, Ohio, USA would prepare for and send out a similar invite to our NEOAC and NCMug and other User Group members in our North East Ohio area.
My second desire would have been that I could join you Friday evening.
:-)
Enjoy!

Hi

Might be a bit premature as we haven't been there yet but the Apple Store, Regent Street, London, UK is holding a special presentation evening for MUGs this Friday 10th Dec.

I quote...

Attention Mac User Group Members,

The Apple Store, Regent Street is hosting a special evening for Mac User Group members.

The Apple Store is more than just a store. It's a place where you can come to share your ideas and learn the latest tricks of the trade from our experts, as well as other Mac users. Join us for a special evening for User Group members and learn how you can use our store for your own User Group functions. Come along and we'll give you a full guided tour, plus special presentations and a chance for you to look at and try the latest Apple technology. You can get your questions answered at our Genius Bar, talk to our in-store Creatives in The Studio or catch one of the workshops on offer in our state-of-the-art, 64-seat theatre area.

We look forward to seeing you. 10 December 7:00 p.m., Apple Store, Regent Street, London W1 (nearest tube: Oxford Circus).

Best Regards,

John O'Grady
Store Manager

I'll let you know how it goes

Regards

Paul

Yes, I have. The Somerset store in Troy, MI opened it's door for my SIG to host an event there. They did the demo for us. http://www.digitalvideodetroit.com . I have been told I could use the store for future events too. (special events night).

I was really pleased to read the post to The MUG Center site (link below) regarding the fact that the Apple Retail Stores (ARS), in a few instances, have agreed to actually present to user groups. This seems to be a clear change in policy from their history (for appropriate reasons, IMHO, not nec to get into here) of no MUG involvement in an official capacity.

While I understand that some groups have experienced a few frustrations with ARS in the past, can anyone report on POSITIVE experiences and cooperation with their local company store?

Happy holidays to all!

Dan
