I've been experimenting with the Bonjour preference pane, but so far
have not had any success getting a new configuration to take effect. I
have tried adding the dns-sd.org example browse domain, to no effect in
Safari. In the console log I find the following messages:
2005-06-17 20:26:33.396 System Preferences[865] WriteBrowseDomain
returned -927
2005-06-17 20:26:33.398 System Preferences[865] WriteRegistrationDomain
returned -927
If I close and re-open System Preferences, the Bonjour settings I have
entered completely vanish.
I have tried re-installing the preference pane after deleting the
ddnswriteconfig utility, building the preference pane from source, and
rebooting -- all to no avail.
Any idea what might be going wrong?
This is on a machine running Mac OS X 10.4.1 Build 8B15, with manually
configured IP address, DNS servers, and search domains.
