Marc is destined to correct me on this, but I'll give it a shot :) Since mDNS sends datagrams to a link local multicast address, it is not intended to be forwarded by a router, so multicast routing is probably going to be a waste of time to look into. The only viable option I can think of is using wide-area bonjour and setting up a Bonjour Name Server. Check out: Setting up a Bonjour Name Server: http://www.dns-sd.org/ServerSetup.html Configuring clients to use Wide-Area Bonjour: http://www.dns-sd.org/ClientSetup.html Depending on the number of machines on both subnets this may be a "pain in the ass" to setup however Also depending on the number of services that need to be advertised, you could possibly just proxy them between the two subnets via the router[1]. Cheers [1] I've not actually tried this, but it seems logically possible :P R. Tyler Ballance: Lead Mac Developer at bleep. software contact: email@hidden | jabber: email@hidden |
