mDNSResponder uses GNU/Make so `gmake os=openbsd` should cover you (at
least that's what those errors look like to me ;))

thanks for the hint -- it still fails, with another error...

has anyone ever got mDNSResponder running on openbsd? this doesn't
seem to work at all...
