i am new to mac osx and i'm supposed to develop an application in
carbon.
Welcome!
as soon as the application is launched,it should apprear in the system
icon tray (on the top always visible) for further use (not the dock).
This sounds like a Windows thing (there is no system tray -- the
closest thing would be a Menu Extra, but there isn't a public API for
that)
can u pls suggest me how that can be done.
It might be better to explain the user experience you are trying to
achieve (what does the application do? what does the user expect from
the application? how often will the user want to use the application?).
From there we can start to suggest user interface options that might
satisfy the user.
also suggest a good book for learning the basics of carbon and how to
start working on it.Have already explored apple's developer site and
trying to get oreilley's book "learning carbon" but its not available
here and e-book isn't available!!
I wish I had any recommendations, my learning has been primarily carry
over from classic and (vast) learning of technologies as they came up
(primarily with aid from this list -- thanks everyone!).
