That's called the menu bar on Mac OS X. You'll definitely want to make the effort to use the correct terminology. It'll make things easier. I assume you've read the various Mac OS X System Overview documents on Apple's site? If not, you might do so.



can u pls suggest me how that can be done.

Search the archives of this list or Apple's developer site for some discussions about Menu Extras.


On Mac OS X, a Menu Extra is a very different thing from an application. They also cannot be written in Carbon, there is only a Cocoa API for them.

You might want to start by telling us just what you are trying to do. You may not need to be a Menu Extra.
