Does it matter? I mean, as long as we have two different ways to do

The Finder says this for all names that start with a period.
However, you can still make a file with a name that starts with a
period from a Cocoa save panel (a Navigation Services dialog will
disable Save when the file name starts with a period, the Cocoa save
panel will ask the user if they really want to do this and tell them
that the file will be hidden -- I'm personally not certain which
behavior is better...).
