I'm just about to make a basic decision for either (32 Bit) RGBA8 or
ARGB8 as well as (128 bit) ARGBfloat or RGBAfloat, both non-
premultiplied.
I would like to pick the one that's best supported with Core Image
and Quartz in terms of speed. I.e. which of the formats is displayed
faster, is the "native" format and does not need any conversions?
Are there any speed gains if I pick one format or the other?
Will there be any differences on that area between Intel-basic and
IBM/Freescale-based Macs?
That information is really important to me as I'll optimize my
application to either use the one or the other. Any answer is thus
greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Felix
