Sounds like good material for a Radar request for simple Carbon APIs to

Frankly, it's not something I need myself, so I'm going to let someone else do the voting for it. :) My code uses CoreAudio or OpenAL directly, because we do more than simple beeps.


Even if I did need it, I have no qualms with just using NSSound. I'm sure it'd work fine in a Carbon-based app, much like how Carbon calls tend to work fine in a Cocoa app.
