Yes, I can see it from the debugger. It is "\000ewName".

The actual name becomes the "ewName" in the Finder after calling
rename(..).

Ben, is the "\000" what you actually see, or is it some other number  
besides 0?

Did the name of the disk actually change?  That is, can you see the  
new disk name in the Finder?
