CFURLCreateWithString(), then CFURLGetFSRef(). Or FSPathMakeRef() if that's raw bytes, not a CFString.


Ahh. This confirms that my HFS path is getting generated correctly, so it looks like the problem occurs later, when Applescript tries to resolve it as an alias. I'll go ask the applescript list about it.
