Thread-topic: FSOpenResFile gives eofErr in Jaguar; need to understand

I was copying over our LAN with an Apple Airport using drag and drop from
the Finder. I had assumed that this would copy resource forks, but as you
guys suspected, the files I had copied from the Tiger to the Jaguar box (and
vice versa) had lost their resource forks. Using cp from Tiger instead, I
confirmed David's claim that Tiger's cp copies resource forks just fine.
Next time I need a resource fork copied I'll check it!
After I got this sorted out, I found another problem which was that drops of
Jaguar-generated .webloc files contain "NeXT plain ascii pasteboard type" as
well as the expected NSFilenamesPboardType. So, if you have a view, as mine
is, which accepts drops of both files and strings, and treats them
differently, you need to "else if" for files before you "else-if" for
strings, or a file drop will be mis-treated as a string drop.
So, my app works 10.2-10.4 now. Thanks for the help.
