Re: How to put images into my nib's UI in IB?

Ando,

Here's a little something I wrote up for the wiki at CarbonDev.com on how to get your images into IB.

http://www.carbondev.com/site/?page=Interface+Builder+Images

But, I will also add that I've given up on doing it that way because I prefer to use nib files to resource files.  So, the second link is how you might do it without resources.   You still use IB to position your place holder as a HIImageView.

First off, I didnt find any IB specific list to email, so I'm just defaulting to this carbon lib list...

I have a PICT file and I want to simply display it in a window that I'm setting up in my nib.  I've searched around a ton and found the following in IB's FAQ:

But I cannot find "How do I get IB to display images from my project?" anywhere in the FAQ or elsewhere!

I cannot copy and paste an image into the "Images" tab of my nib's main window.  I cannot drag and drop and image into that pane either.

Nor can I paste/drop an image directly onto a PICT or HIImageView control in my nib layout, etc.

So, how exactly do I get an image to be displayed in a window in IB?  :)  I feel I must just be missing something obvious because this has to be doable and easily so!

Someone please enlighten me! :)

Thx,

Ando
