I thought that too until I met "Services for Macintosh" (AFP
server implementation on Windows servers)... Holes in "atomicity"
for up to 5 seconds and inconsistent results during that time
(e.g. file is definitely there: create operation with the same
name fails due to dupFNErr (correct), while at the same time the
file doesn't show itself in the readdir/FSGetCatalogInfoBulk/
PBGetCatInfo list (not correct), nor can't be open (not correct),
etc.) are reality with it. I wasn't able convince them this is
bug (and it really is). "By design" MS guy said :(
