It's in Stuffit format because nothing else would retain the names.
Try opening one of the contained files inside (either by double
clicking or using an open file dialog).
Also try moving one of the files out of the folder using the finder.
Try dragging one to a dock icon of an application that will normally
open that file type.

You can double-click them to open them, but attempting to use Nav
Services to open or save them will crash the app whilst trying to
update the Recent Documents:
