This comes fairly close to describing my situation also, although
only a few of our customers are hitting the memory limits now.

We will probably just produce a 64 bit version for Windows and leave
the Mac at 32 bits and then suggest to those Mac customers that need
64 bits to switch platforms.

But it does feel like Carbon is on the road to being deprecated. If that
happens, we would have to seriously consider dropping the Macintosh
product.
