Re: Detecting ATS fonts

If this worked, and if there were a Carbon equivalent, it would be exactly what I wanted.
The Font Panel is really cluttered with inappropriate stuff for a simple application--
QD fonts, ascii-incompatible Symbol, Chinese, Japanese & Korean fonts, etc.

It's a shame that it doesn't work.

Thanks.

There is no way to change the fonts listed in the Font Panel. Not via Cocoa, not via Carbon. Although there is documentation that says you can use fontManager:willIncluideFont:

(http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Reference/ ApplicationKit/Classes/NSFontManager_Class/Reference/Reference.html

it has never been implemented on any version of Mac OS X (not just 10.3 and 10.4, but it wasn't in 10.2 or 10.1 or 10.0 either).

I have an application for which I would like to display only ATS (not QD bitmap)
