It's explicitly stated that you can't use Time Machine to back up to a drive connected to the Airport Base station, but, in typical Apple fashion, it doesn't explain why, nor does it suggest that there is an update forthcoming to allow this.

I bought the AEBS specifically for this purpose. Anyone have any insight?
