 Transparent 
windows, menus, and menu bar serve no purpose beyond wasting CPU 
cycles for gratuitous iCandy, and the background is distracting. On 
the bright side, at least with the menu bar I can create custom 
desktop pictures with a 22-pixel high strip of white along the 
top. ;-) Also, Finder icon previews of graphic files in Leopard now 
have a white border and a shadow. Looks cute, but the image in the 
icon preview is 26 pixels smaller in each direction in a 128-pixel 
icon, which means noticeably less detail, and that makes them less 
useful to me.
