It is _far_ easier to display the font name using Unicode (ATSUI is
amazingly easy to use once you figure it out). You really don't
want to use Quickdraw for displaying the font name, it's just too
much of a pain to back-convert the font to something Quickdraw can
use.
Though, if you can, better use CoreText instead of ATSUI. At least
that's what the Apple voices in my head told me ;-)
Rumour has it that there's even an (albeit in many ways broken)
version of CoreText available on 10.4, but I haven't tried that
myself. It's undocumented, but of course unlikely to change, so you
can probably use it if it works, using the 10.5 docs as a guide.
