I encourage everyone to read them thoroughly. There's a lot of new
stuff in Leopard.
One thing that didn't make it was a request I made long ago, radar bug
#5011025. I wanted to be called back when standard HIViews are
constructed, so that I could create a C++ proxy object for each, in
the same manner as custom HIViews. The response I got was a bit
cryptic, but basically suggested using Cocoa instead. (I found this
particularly offensive).
22-Oct-2007 01:29 PM DAVID GALLOWAY JR: We are always looking for
ways to improve our applications. Your bug report and feedback is
appreciated and has been forwarded to the appropriate engineering
team. Please be sure to regularly check the seed notes and release
notes for any updates that might affect this issue. Again, thank you
for taking the time to submit bugs. We sincerely appreciate your
input. Therefore, there are currently no plans to implement this.
Please use Cocoa instead, possibly in conjunction with HICocoaView.
I have yet to look through the notes, but my request seems like a good
addition, and doesn't seem too hard to implement. Perhaps there's a
way to do this now?
TIA,
Rick
