I encourage everyone to read them thoroughly. There's a lot of new stuff in Leopard.

One thing that didn't make it was a request I made long ago, radar bug #5011025. I wanted to be called back when standard HIViews are constructed, so that I could create a C++ proxy object for each, in the same manner as custom HIViews. The response I got was a bit cryptic, but basically suggested using Cocoa instead. (I found this particularly offensive).

I have yet to look through the notes, but my request seems like a good addition, and doesn't seem too hard to implement. Perhaps there's a way to do this now?

When I create a new window, before I show it, I have a function that walks through the view hierarchy performing various operations. One of the operations is to create a C++ object for each HIView of certain kinds.
