take a look at Mathematica AFAIK, they just separated GUI from non-GUI, so they can use 64/128/256 bit :-) for non gui and still be happy with 32 bit GUI

Ironicaly, the QTKit (64 bits) also separate the GUI and the processing but it has a 64 bits UI and a 32 bit daemon to process the data...

I hope this is just a transition solution and will be improve in the futur.
