Re: API mapping for Win32 API to MAC API

As do many, many others here. I will admit that Larry could have phrased
things somewhat less bluntly, but I think perhaps the person objecting to
Larry has not been around here long enough to understand just how often
companies take on "Mac porting" projects, and then don't bother to spend so
much as 15 minutes (30-60 for people who are not native speakers of English)
on Apple's site to locate even the most basic introductions to Mac OS
development.

This last one wasn't all that bad, really. Many of us have been somewhat
sensitized by prior, far worse, instances where posters assiduously ignored
all attempts to point them to appropriate background material, instead
preferring to ask for one-to-one API translations over, and over, and over,
and over, and over.... So now we're a bit more firm with telling them: 1)
there is not a 1-1 mapping and 2) they need to put in some study before
proceeding further.

I suspect, in particular, that this person was not around during the days of
the barrage of appallingly basic questions from a certain *highly*
recognizable domain ;-)
