Can I disable the Finder's use of the QuickLook preview as custom icon?

So I wrote a QuickLook generator and now the beautiful document icon I slaved over to work in small sizes is being replaced by fuzzy gray preview text no one can read anyway. I think I want to turn off thumbnails only, but am not sure about that and how; or do I need to return my icon in the graphic context, or what. I upped the "minimum size" param in the info.plist but this doesn't seem to have taken effect, at least not yet (I assume the thumbnails are cached). At least I now know why my PDF icons look so funky since Leopard. Large previews are nice, but small ones are a waste of processing power and user time IMHO. _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
