Scanners and digital cameras in WGM environment

I am looking for help allowing students to use digital cameras and scanners
while working in a managed client environment.  Students have access to
iPhoto and ImageCapture, yet my Epson Perfection 2450 scanner and Sony
digital camera are not detected by either application.  Students can use
both if I login as the local administrator.
