Full disk encryption makes more sense on a Windows platform where users, and the OS, are saving files all over the damn place.


In even a minimally managed Mac install you only need to worry about the home folder (and maybe Shared) so FileVault is a pretty good solution. Throw encrypted swap in there for good measure if you want.
