I have done some searching but have not turned anything up yet. We have made the big jump to Network User Homes by using AdmitMac. The user homes are shared from a windows 2003 server with smb. How can we add the network home for the currently logged in user to the spotlight search path. By default spotlight will not search the network user home.

You can use mdutil to enable spotlight on the mounted volume, like so:

sudo mdutil –i on /Volumes/networkhome-sharename

Remember that Spotlight indexes volumes, so unless each user’s network home is its own share -- as opposed to a shared Users directory containing individual user home folders -- then it’s not a good idea to index it.
