Re: Force browsers through a proxy

This may sound too simple...

What is the best way to force every browser to route through a proxy server
for web access (192.168.x.x:8080)? Changing the settings in the Network
panel of System Prefs does not work if a user chooses to use Firefox nor
does setting proxy stipulations for users in WGM.

I don't know if I'd call it the "best", but the most foolproof method is called "transparent proxying". Usually, on your router that does NAT for outbound connections, you force all port 80 requests to hit w.x.y.z:8080 (i.e., your proxy server) on their way out to the internet. Google should find tons of links for this...

Would I push out a .pref file for Firefox and make it unwritable?

Thanks.
