Syncing via iSync and dot Mac trashes keychain in Tiger

I have a user with a local account on a 10.4.11 G5 iMac which seems to get their keychain blanked out (totally emptied) upon sync or login (as viewed in Keychain Access app--if I have the app open, I can watch the entries disappear as the iMac syncs with .Mac). The weird part is that even if I reset it under the "Advanced" pane in the .Mac prefs under System Preferences and specify that the sync process overwrites from iMac to .Mac with a fully populated keychain, it still blanks it out on the iMac.

And to make matters worse, the keychain on .Mac isn't blank (tested by also doing a reset but having .Mac overwrite the iMac whereupon I get the contents of the keychain stored in .Mac, which isn't blank-- it only seems to blank out when reset to have the iMac's keychain overwrite .Mac's keychain)!!! Has anyone experienced this and have a way to fix it? I've already repaired permissions with Disk Utility and compared the permissions with another account on the same machine and another machine to verify that the permissions are correct. No ACLs are operational on this machine.
