It's pretty hard to tell without having the original .jpg files to examine, but one of two cases seems likely- first, that Delta's barcode image generating software is creating bad jpgs with some kind of incorrect scale info embedded in them, or less likely, that the html/css code they are using is blowing it up... If you can grab the jpg file of the bad barcode and open it in Preview or some other graphics viewing or editing program, you can probably see which case applies. I suppose there is a non-zero chance that there is some error in the Apple jpeg library (google jailbreak+iPhone for an example of this) that is causing a jpeg that is correctly formed to blow up, though I think the odds negligible. email@hidden on January 18, 2008 at 1:05 PM -0600 wrote: Date: Fri, 18 Jan 2008 12:03:52 -0700 From: Philip Ershler <email@hidden> Subject: Re: Mail and Delta Airlines Barcodes To: client <email@hidden> Message-ID: <email@hidden">email@hidden> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed; delsp=yes On Jan 17, 2008, at 10:22 PM, Mike Wyant, Jr. wrote: > > On Jan 17, 2008, at 8:19 PM, Philip Ershler wrote: > >> >> On Jan 17, 2008, at 9:11 PM, Mike Wyant, Jr. wrote: >> >>> >>> On Jan 17, 2008, at 1:54 PM, Philip Ershler wrote: >>> >>>> Hi, >>>> Delta Airlines e-mails an e-ticket that contains a barcode. >>>> Lately, Delta must have made a change to the barcode image >>>> because Mail in 10.4.11 and 10.5.1 smears the barcode out over >>>> literally two or three pages. It is smeared out over multiple pages. Picture 23 is from an older Delta e-ticket, viewed with exactly the same machine and Mail app. This e-ticket was from last summer. Phil |
