Re: Which .plist controls automatic software update checks?

Im trying to lock down the option for OS X 10.5 to automatically check for software updates. I'm using MCX policy to tell the Macs which server to use for the updates (I have my own SUS server on my LAN), but there isnt a way to disable the OS X from automatically checking for updates. I want to discourage users from seeing the "new software is available" dialog pop up every time iTunes is updated, etc. "Out of site, out of mind"

I tried these files, and none of them contain the key to disable automatic checks for 10.5:

This is located in ~/Library/ByHost/ com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.MACADDRESS.plist

Where obviously, MACADDRESS is the MAC address of your machine. You can apply ByHost settings with MCX, it works fine.
