Unlike the Mac OS, FireFox has a setting to "Auto-detect proxy settings".
We choose this option for our teachers' laptops, and they can bring them
home (where there is usually no proxy) or to work (where there is one); it
seems to work just fine switching between the two. I'd assume that
setting would handle a change in proxy servers as well.
