[OT] Debug code (was Re: 10.1 dev tools are now online)

Excuse me? what part was a joke??

I don't think any debug code is turned on in the last 5G64 seed, but if so, how could I tell?

Lots of people originally blamed (based on misinterpreted comments from developers) the apparent slowness of OS X PB, DP4, etc on the fact that there was "debug code" in OS X at the time, and that this would be "turned off" for a release version. This even lead to widespread belief that there would be two "versions" of 4K78 when it was released as 10.0 -- one that was seeded to developers and the other that was in the retail box. This was all a load of rubbish, and people like me were frequently amused at how people with very little understanding of how development works could get things so wrong :-)
