Most apps will do this anyways. When you put up the guard window to grab the whole screen, other stuff
can't go above it, even status level windows. Quake3 does this, and it's a textbook example of that
sort of game, so it should be automatic.

If an app isn't grabbing the whole screen properly, that's a different story entirely.
DVD Player in fullscreen mode seems to shield the display correctly, as does the iTunes visualizer, at least
in my setup.
