Embedding a control into an NSOutlineView?

Hello all ...

I am working on an app which needs to have an outline view with a check box next to each entry in the outline. My NSOutlineView otherwise works fine, and I have played with sending the appropriate constituent NSTableColumn the setDataCell: message using an NSButtonCell. However, I seem to get a plain bevelled text button no matter what I do to the NSButtonCell before sending it via setDataCell, and no matter what object I return for that column in the outline view's objectValueForTableColumn data source method.

I'm just learning Cocoa so I suspect there is a simple solution, but I sure can't figure it out...
