Re: instantiate NSImageCell

I'm fairly sure you can't instantiate any type of NSCell in IB. This is because an NSCell usually only "lives" inside certain types of views (NSButtons, NSTableViews, etc).

NSCells are usually (always?) created programmatically.
What are you trying to do that requires you to add it in IB?
